Mad Hatter Confirmed for Batman: Arkham Origins

Batman's rogues gallery for the prequel Batman: Arkham Origins continues to grow, as a familiar face makes a return appearance.

The Mad Hatter's cameo in Batman: Arkham City was short-lived, though it did provide a great few minutes of gameplay that perfectly suited the character. It failed to live up to the dynamic Scarecrow moments from Arkham Asylum, but finding a way to make a character as goofy as the Mad Hatter fit into the Arkham world was no doubt a different challenge all together.

Even with the character established in this world, it comes as a bit of surprise to learn the Hatter will be back in Arkham Origins. He isn't exactly the Dark Knight's most formidable foe, but apparently WB Montreal has a plan for him to fit well into Batman's formative years. According to scans from an upcoming issue of OXM (via All Games Beta), the Hatter will play a somewhat larger role in the prequel.

Hatter now joins Bane, the Joker, Black Mask, Anarchy, Deathstroke, Copperhead and Deadshot as a handful of the baddies Bats will have to tussle with this October. There will likely be even more villains announced in the coming months, and we can't wait to see who else turns up.
