Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba. What do these people have in common? They're playing Nordic gods, but they aren't actually Nordic (three are British, one Australian). So perhaps to get closer to having actual vikings playing vikings, Marvel is talking to Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen for 'Thor 2.'

This comes from Variety, who has no idea who Mikkelsen would play, though it seems likely he'll be a part of the God world, instead of one of the humans that Hemsworth's Thor runs across. The film is being directed by Alan Taylor - best known for his work on 'Game of Thrones' - and is scheduled to be released November 15, 2013.

Variety hints that he would be playing a villain, though they also note that Hiddleston will be returning for the sequel, and most of the first film's cast should also be returning. Playing a villain is par for the course with Mikkelsen, who's been a go-to bad guy for Hollywood ever since he was cast in 'Casino Royale.' Mikklesen was just at Cannes with the Thomas Vinterberg film 'The Hunt' and is currently shooting 'The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman' with Shia LaBeouf where he will be playing - you guessed it - a bad guy.
