"It's not an S. On my world, it means hope."

We knew we'd get a bit of background regarding Superman's famous logo in 'Man of Steel,' and he's just about to get into it with Lois Lane (Amy Adams) -- before they're rudely interrupted -- during the brief clip that the actress debuted during her appearance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' last night (June 4).

This small glimpse of 'Man of Steel' finds Superman (Henry Cavill) handcuffed in an interrogation room, but instead of having to deal a good cop/bad cop scenario, our hero gets a few moments of lighthearted banter with Ms. Lane. It's a scene that takes advantage of Cavill and Adams' chemistry -- something Kimmel referenced when he quipped that, during Cavill's shirtless scenes early in the film, he himself was swooning.

Adams responded that she thinks Cavill is her 3-year-old daughter's first crush, which makes for a little bit of mother-daughter symmetry, since Adams went through the same thing with Cavill's caped predecessor, Christopher Reeve. As she pointed out, she also went on to share scenes with another Superman, Tom Welling, during her guest stint on 'Smallville.'

"It's the suit," joked Adams, and Warner Bros. is banking on plenty of filmgoers feeling the same way when 'Man of Steel' soars into theaters on June 14.
