In a world where Lake Bell has yet to make a follow-up to her excellent directorial debut comes Man Up, a new romantic comedy where she stars opposite Simon Pegg. These are two of our favorite actors, and thankfully, this looks like a promising team-up.

Bell plays a lonely British woman (while sporting a pretty respectable British accent) who is mistaken for a man’s blind date (that’s where Pegg comes in). Charmed and desperate, she doesn’t correct his error and pretends to be the woman he’s looking for. Will she tell him the truth? Will they fall in love? I mean, yes, obviously they will; it’s a romantic comedy. But Bell and Pegg are such a great pair, the obvious plot actually seems pretty welcome. The cast also includes Olivia Williams and Black Mirror’s Rory Kinnear.

Man Up opens on May 29 in the U.K. and will make its U.S. premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City next month. There’s no domestic release date yet, but hopefully some brave studio mans up and snags this one at Tribeca.
