Over the weekend, Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' held court at the TCA press panel for the first time since its Comic-Con 2013 appearance, screening the pilot for reporters while Joss Whedon, producers and cast answered questions of the 'Avengers' tie-in series. The event culminated in an epic new poster for Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,' so what new details of the series are no longer Level-7 classified?

Naturally the most burning question among the bunch proved to be inquiries of how 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' might tie into the larger Marvel universe, particularly with regards to 'The Avengers,' or even such upcoming works as 'Thor: The Dark World' and 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier.' “There will be as much as we can allow," says Joss Whedon of the prospect. "We’re still working that out. It’s s a fluid process. The important thing is it’s a fun option, but it’s not the reason for the show. We don’t want to just be an Easter egg farm. We want them to come back for these people.”

Whedon himself offered up that he'd have as much involvement with the series going forward as someone directing 'The Avengers 2' might have time for, but particular scripts that caught his eye could lure him back to the project, time permitting. The same goes for Nick Fury's (Samuel L. Jackson) potential appearances on the show, as "He's a movie star and a workaholic, so whether or not he makes time for us I can't say yet. I hope so."

So between Easter egg hunts, Joss Whedon's light involvement, and a Coulson-centric mystery that will play out over the course of the first season, what can viewers actually expect on a week-to-week basis?

Every week it's not going to be some new hero. There could be a device, a mystery. There's so many aspects as to what's happened since everybody in the world found out there's a superhero team and aliens invaded New York. We want to be able to change it up every week -- spy stuff, hero stuff, heartfelt stuff. [We want to make sure] that every week you get something that feels different so it's not turkey every day.

Of course, heroes du jour will still play something of a factor in the 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,' as Whedon would neither confirm nor deny that J. August Richards' pilot character would make further appearances in the series. “But I thought he was great, too, so do that math,” jokes Whedon. Producer Jeffrey Bell pointed out that the Marvel universe has 5,000 characters from which to draw, even for minor roles, saying, “You might as well use it. If we have a character that would mean something to somebody out there, it doesn’t mean we’re subverting the story."

Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ features a cast that includes Clark Gregg’s resurrected Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na as veteran agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, and Elizabeth Henstridge and Iain De Caestecker as science team Gemma Simmons and Leo Fitz. 'Ghost Whisperer’ vet David Conrad has joined in an unknown role and Sam Rockwell is game to reprise his ‘Iron Man’ role of Justin Hammer, by his own word.

Well, what say you? Are you excited for more 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,' even if Joss Whedon doesn't "use up favors" by calling in the Avengers just yet?
