‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Season 2 Premiere Photos: Lucy Lawless and Absorbing Man Emerge from the “Shadows”

Earlier today, Marvel gave us an eyeful of 'Agent Carter''s grand entrance in 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 2 premiere "Shadows," but we can't keep living in the past, baby! Though OG 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' team members Ward, Fitz and Simmons are only present for the cast photo above, rather than the 18 new photos of the September 23 premiere, we do get a heaping helping of Colonel General Talbot's return, as both he and his family are menaced by Brian Patrick Wade's Carl "Crusher" Creel. Enter a full-scale military force (and what appears to be Lucy Lawless' Isabelle Hartley and Nick Blood's Lance Hunter undercover) to take the villain down, while back at Coulson's fancy new digs, Skye, May and Billy Koenig (Patton Oswalt) run the show.

Elsewhere of 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 2, we know that 'Dollhouse’ star and Whedon favorite Reed Diamond will play Daniel Whitehall (Secret Wars’ Kraken) as a Hydra baddie, while 'Twin Peaks' star Kyle MacLachlan will appear as Skye's apparently-gooey father. Cobie Smulders' Maria Hill has been confirmed for an eventual reappearance as well, and 'Friday Night Lights' star Adrianne Palicki will play Barbara Morse, better known as Marvel's "Mockingbird."
