We don’t yet know if Marvel’s Hulu Runaways series will follow suit with a place in the larger MCU, but there might be at least one familiar voice behind the long-awaited adaptation. Following the initial announcement, one of Marvel’s Netflix Iron Fist writers has confirmed their involvement with Runaways.

Writer Tamara Becher confirmed over Twitter that she’d have a hand in the new Hulu series, described as “the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe – their parents.” In addition to Iron Fist, Becher has worked on both Bryan Fuller’s Wonderfalls and Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the past.

The original Runaways was created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona in 2003, chronicling a group of teenagers as they discover their parents belong to an evil crime organization. Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will helm the series overall.

Potential to adapt The Runaways as a feature has been around since at least 2008, but will Hulu’s version live up to the hype? Stay tuned for the latest details.
