Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. remains benched until March, following Agent Carter’s Season 2 return, but at least one other Agent remains active. Adrianne Palicki’s Mockingbird and partner Lance Hunter will still have their day, as ABC confirms a pilot order for their Most Wanted spinoff series.

Quietly greenlit back in August, the series got official acknowledgement from ABC boss Paul Lee at the ongoing TCA press tour panel today, namely “We are making it in the next few months. It’s a really good script.” News of the spinoff first emerged in April of 2015, before ABC seemingly shelved the project, until its August resurface.

Last we heard of the series, which spins off Marvel characters Bobbi Morse (Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood), no decision had been made as to how, or when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would introduce the pilot, if at all. Initial reports also cryptically claimed that Marvel’s Most Wanted “is not a spinoff, per se, but rather an entirely new project solely focused on the two characters to continue their story.”

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. EP Jeffrey Bell and series writer Paul Zbyszewski will spearhead the project, both serving as showrunners and executive producers. We’ll hear more as Marvel’s Most Wanted gears up for production, but is there space at ABC for another Marvel TV series? Will Agents lose two of its better additions?
