If there's one thing Hideo Kojima knows how to do, it's wow gamers with the incredible visuals in his Metal Gear Solid franchise. With a new 9-minute extended trailer, Kojima will leave you stunned at the beauty of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. Be warned, the footage above is somewhat graphic in its nature in a few spots.

We've seen some of what Metal Gear Solid 5 has to offer in the past, but this E3 footage is our first true glimpse at a lot of the new features present thanks to the Fox Engine. MGS5 will be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but it will also release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, thanks in large to the Fox Engine's scalability.

Seeing all the insane new lighting effects, real-time weather, and real-time day/night cycles in action is impressive, but the most outstanding bit of the trailer has to be the new character models. Kojima Productions is dancing on the borders of the uncanny valley, and with great success. While we want to see the game in a real demo before we get too excited, Metal Gear games have consistently pushed the limits visually every subsequent game. There is little doubt MGS5 won't deliver the goods.
