Although he recently appeared in the not-so-great Fantastic Four, the experience hasn’t put Michael B. Jordan off the idea of starring in another comic book movie — this time it might be Blood Brothers, a vampire buddy action-comedy that would be much, much different from his most recent outing.

The Wrap reports that MGM is developing a film based on Blood Brothers, the Dark Horse graphic novel series from writers Andrew Waller and Mike Gagerman. Jordan is in talks to star as one of the lead characters in the film for the studio, which is also releasing his upcoming boxing drama Creed.

Blood Brothers centers on two vampire pals who attempt to stop a maniacal villain obsessed with bringing about the apocalypse:

Nick and Tree have smoked opium with Genghis Khan, had orgies in Michelangelo’s studio, and even fronted a death metal band. But after a century of friendship, these inseparable vampire buddies are on the verge of splitting up. Terrible timing, as an apocalypse-obsessed villain is plotting an end to humanity.

Best friends . . . forever.

Tropic Thunder screenwriter Etan Cohen wrote the screenplay for the Blood Brothers film, which does not currently have a director attached. The tone of the project sounds similar to the works of Mark Millar — dark, edgy and bloody action-comedy — and it’s the kind of tricky tone the studio is going to need to handle really well if they want it to pay off.
