With Ridley Scott’Alien: Covenant, you’ll get two Michael Fassbenders for the price of one. What a deal!

When the crew of the colony ship of Covenant arrive at a remote planet, they won’t only be met by gruesome neomorphs, but the sinister David. Fassbender’s android, the blonde, Lawrence of Arabia fanboy from Prometheus, will return for the upcoming prequel where he’ll also meet a new and improved model, Walter.

The new movie introduced Walter in a promotional video last month that detailed the construction of the upgraded android. But just how different will Walter be from David? Fassbender has previously said his Walter is a "more straightforward" version of David, but in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly he provides some more clarity to how the two will differ, comparing one to Spock:

I wanted Walter to be more Spock-like — devoid of human characteristics or emotional contents that are programmed into David. I want him more like a blank canvas one can project things upon.

Yesterday Empire unveiled brand new photos from Covenant that teased Fassbender’s Walter and David. Today EW has a two new looks at the characters, an up-close still of Walter inspecting something, and another angle of David looking over the Engineer’s ship from Prometheus.

The upcoming film, which takes place 10 years after Prometheus, finds Walter on board the Covenant as they discover a new planet. Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Billy Crudup, Demian Bichir, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejiogo, Jussie Smollett and James Franco round out the cast of the movie, which hits theaters May 19.
