Microsoft announced another bit of good news this week, as it will allow users who purchased a season pass on the Xbox 360 to redownload that content for the same game on the Xbox One at no additional cost.

Downloadable content has become a big part of gaming these past few years, and the season pass program instituted by many publishers and developers has grown as well. According to Xbox Wire, Activision, Electronic Arts and Ubisoft will allow players who purchase a game and season pass on the Xbox 360 to get that content for free as long as they buy the game on Xbox One.

So, if you purchase Call of Duty: Ghosts or Battlefield 4 and their respective season passes, you can get all the maps and weapons again on the Xbox One with no issue. Though a season pass hasn't been announced for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag just yet, based on past  behavior, we're guessing the same will hold true there as well. It's a bold move that supports console migration, and could turn a few more folks over to the Xbox One when it arrives later this year.

What do you think of the new season pass plan?
