If you’ve seen the Thor: Ragnarok trailer (and if you haven’t, what are you even DOING here, go watch it RIGHT NOW), you know that at some point in the movie, probably near the beginning, Cate Blanchett’s evil Hela is going to break Thor’s hammer Mjolnir apart with her bare hand. So then, why does it look like Mjolnir is center stage in the Russo brothers’ most recent Instagram post from the set of Avengers: Infinity War?

The post from today clearly shows Thor’s famous hammer looking none the worse for wear:

What does this mean for Ragnarok? Does Thor get his hammer back, along with his flowing golden locks? That would be a pretty quick turnaround. Would Doctor Strange help him re-forge it after Thor enlisted his help during that post-credits scene? Does Hela give it back to him at the end of Ragnarok, or does it happen later? Alternatively, this could all be a James Gunn-style misdirect, or just a couple guys having fun with some cool props backstage.

Hopefully it’s the latter, or the Russos may have inadvertently spoiled another movie. That said, things in the Marvel universe have a knack for coming back. (Except for Quicksilver. He’s dead. Sorry.) Or maybe Thor’s powers bring his hammer back. Maybe the true Mjolnir was the friends we made along the way.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters November 3. Avengers: Infinity War opens May 4, 2018.
