Filmmaker Wes Anderson has been dazzling audiences for years with his sharp writing, gorgeous direction and not entirely subtle '60s and '70s style that's tucked away in every one of his pictures. Whether you like some of his films or not, you can't deny the fact that Wes Anderson is one of the most influential directors out there. Now Focus Features is getting ready to release his latest movie, a romantic drama with a dash of comedy called 'Moonrise Kingdom' as we get a first look the first wonderfully painted poster below.

In 'Moonrise Kingdom', we center on two children who fall in love, make a secret pact and run away together into the woods of a small New England town in the summer of 1965. The town panics as they tear across the forest and any other terrain they can think of in order to find the two before a monstrous storm hits. The cast includes Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand, Jared Gilman, Kara Hayward, Tilda Swinton and Jason Schwartzman.

The background of the forest in the poster reminds myself of the covers from the old children's encyclopedias printed in the seventies that you'd find in an elementary school library. Between the great cast and Wes Anderson's direction, movie-goers should be thrilled to see this when it's released in select cities on May 25th. Be excited Wes Anderson fans, be very excited.
