Forget the Oscars and the Golden Globes -- if you really want to know the movies that everyone loved this year, look no further than most popular Google searches.

With awards season in full swing, we thought it might be fun to take a look at Google and see what you guys -- the general internet public -- really loved at the theater this year. Google has a list of the top 10 most-searched films (among some other most-searched things), and it's some pretty interesting, though maybe slightly generic, stuff.

For your consideration:

Now, sure, 'The Hunger Games' is kind of a no-brainer, but we're confused as to why 'The Avengers' ranks at number four. It seems like all anyone could talk about for months, but James Bond is more interesting to you than Nick Fury and his band of superheroes? Look at you guys wearing your fancy pants all of a sudden.

'Prometheus' makes sense at number two, since everyone ran to Google after seeing it to search for some explanation to the entire plot. And we're pretty sure we know the real reason why everyone was Googling 'Magic Mike' -- ladieeeees.

Here's where things get weird -- you guys really cared that much about 'John Carter'? The box office returns on that film beg to differ. And 'Ek Tha Tiger' is an Indian action film, so we're kind of impressed with your appreciation of more diverse film.

Rounding out the list we have 'Paranormal Activity 4' (duh) and 'Taken 2,' and given the popularity of those films' predecessors, we get it.

But at number 10 we have 'Dark Shadows.' What is wrong with you guys? Can't you Google better movies?! Maybe you should make that your New Year's resolution.
