NBC continues to whet viewer appetites for the upcoming Bryan Fuller-helmed adaptation of 'Hannibal,' debuting April 4, and today proves no exception. We actually had a chance to sit down with series star Mads Mikkelsen for lunch to discuss the series (more on that later), but how would you like to go behind the scenes of the bloody new series exploring the relationship between 'Hannibal' and Will Graham? Get a fresh appetizer for the new drama inside!

We're counting the days until NBC debuts its buzz-worthy prequel drama 'Hannibal' on April 4, serving up an entirely unique flavor to the relationship between iconic serial killer Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and troubled FBI profile Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), as originally outlined by the words of author Thomas Harris. The new series feature a wealth of Bryan Fuller alum along with his distinct visual style, but what do the cast and crew have to say?

TVGuide obtained the best look into the series yet with a new behind-the-scenes featurette, previewing all sorts of unseen horrors and psychological torments playing out between characters in very different fashions. We certainly observe from the footage that Mikkelsen's Hannibal plays far more subtly than the classic Anthony Hopkins version, while Will Graham has a distinct, and disturbing manner of solving crimes.

The new series will premiere on April 4, and we'll have much more from series star Mads Mikkelsen in the coming days, but in the meantime check out a fresh look at 'Hannibal' below, and tell us if you'll tune in for the new series in the comments!
