Any 'Girls' viewer well knows that the HBO dramedy's most cringe-worthy moments usually stem from the singing of series star Allison Williams, and lucky for us all, NBC has found a way to share our discomfort with the entire world, live! Following Christopher Walken's Captain Hook casting, NBC's 'Peter Pan Live!' has officially found its titular boy, to be portrayed by 'Girls' warbler and network royalty Allison Williams.

Following up on last year's critically-panned, if successful by social media experiment of 'The Sound of Music Live!,' NBC will hit the second star to the right this December 4 with the airing of 'Peter Pan Live!' With its two main leads now cast, here's what NBC had to say of Williams' casting, sans irony:

We couldn’t be happier that Allison Williams is our Peter Pan. She’s a lovely rising star on the award-winning show Girls — where she occasionally shows off her incredible vocal talent — and we think she will bring the perfect blend of ‘boyish’ vulnerability and bravado to save the day against Christopher Walken’s powerful Captain Hook.

Adds Williams herself:

I have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about three years old, so this is a dream come true. It’s such an honor to be a part of this adventure, and I’m very excited to get to work with this extraordinarily talented team. And besides, what could go wrong in a live televised production with simultaneous flying, sword fighting and singing?

Well, what do you think? Granted Williams is in real life a reasonably talented singer, will NBC's 'Peter Pan Live!' live up to the social media event status of its predecessor? Who would you want to see in the role of Peter Pan, opposite Christopher Walken's Captain Hook? Check out Williams' voice below, and give us your thoughts in the comments!
