This past week NBC sitcom Undateable made waves with its airing of a live-episode, a far-cry from its near-certain Season 2 cancellation months earlier, but NBC seems to have taken a major swing. Not only will the three-camera comedy return for Season 3, but all of its episodes will be filmed live. Good luck, everyone!

Rumors of Undateable’s live third season emerged earlier today at Deadline, though NBC only confirmed the comedy’s survival late Friday night, following a major bloodbath of cancellations prior. It remains to be seen when Undateable Season 3 will air, though the live season will at least keep to 13 episodes, for now, anyway.

Airing this past Tuesday, the live episode of Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence’s Undateable featured a boatload of cameos, from musician Ed Sheeran, to Scrubs alum Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Neill Flynn, Scott Foley and Christa Miller, along with Dr. Drew, Minnie Driver and Victoria Justice.

NBC has certainly swung for the fences (apart from canceling everything else) this season, adding more and more live programming to its stable, but can Undateable sustain itself with 13 live episodes? Will the gag give out long before then?
