EA and Criterion debuted a new trailer for Need for Speed: Rivals during Gamescom.

In the trailer, you can see you'll be able to play as an undercover cop, and can work in conjunction with standard police vehicles to take down illegal racers. When playing, you can earn experience in a variety of ways to help you unlock more cars and equipment to help you evade the police, or earn more tools to help you cut down law breakers.

The action looks fairly smooth, and delivers on the Need for Speed action you expect from Criterion and the franchise. The way in which the online is connected should keep you coming back for more time and time again, and the multitude of ways to play will allow each race to be fresh.

Need for Speed: Rivals is due out on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and PlayStation 4 on Nov. 21, with the Xbox One release date to be determined.
