Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has been releasing so many clips lately that you can almost watch the entire movie before its premiere without leaving your computer. Most of them have included information we already know or serve to introduce us to some of the beasts we’ll meet, but one of the new ones released today touches on a very important detail: the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald.

The Grindelwald cat is out of the bag: as soon as Johnny Depp’s role in Fantastic Beasts and its sequel was leaked, Warner Bros. decided to let everyone know that, indeed, Depp would be playing Grindelwald and, yes, that character will be in this movie and the next one. We weren’t yet sure whether he’d be an antagonist yet, as Grindelwald used to be a nice guy and Dumbledore’s friend before he turned to the dark side. But with the new clip above, we know that Grindelwald is definitely a bad guy, and definitely at large when Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) arrives in America. When Colin Farrell’s Auror (like a wizard cop, essentially) Percival Graves asks Newt if he’s trying to start a magical war, Newt replies, “I’m not one of Grindelwald’s fanatics.” Sounds like Grindelwald is the Voldemort before there was a Voldemort.

Next, Scamander and his new ally Porpentina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston) attempt to get some information out of Gnarlack, a goblin played by Ron Perlman with a fondness for cigars. Gnarlack wants more for his help than Newt can pay if he won’t give up his green, lock-picking Bowtruckle friend, and Gnarlack isn’t interested in working for small potatoes. He appears to leave at the end of the clip, but it’s doubtful that this is the last we’ll see of him.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in theaters November 18.
