New ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Posters Spotlight the Bad Guys

If you thought the heroes of 'Guardians of the Galaxy' were an odd bunch, just wait until you get a look at the bad guys! Continuing this week's onslaught of new character posters, new one-sheets for the characters of Ronan the Accuser, Nebula and Korath the Pursuer have arrived, giving us great looks at the trio Big Bads working to defeat the ragtag Guardians in the upcoming film.

Although the many trailers and TV spots haven't given much time to bad guys, this villainous line-up promises to be one of the most interesting and strange we've seen in the Marvel cinematic universe. After all, if you bury actors as good as Lee Pace, Karen Gillan and Djimon Hounsou under a layer of crazy alien make-up and just let them go nuts, the results shouldn't be anything less than spectacular.

Ronan (Lee Pace) - A Kree radical, Ronan continues to fight an ancient war between his people and the Xandarians. Ronan has struck a bargain with the Machiavellian Thanos—retrieve a mysterious artifact, and in exchange Xandar will finally be eradicated. Ronan leads his army to hunt down Peter Quill and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy when they come between him and his genocidal goal.

Nebula (Karen Gillan) A deadly blue-skinned assassin, Nebula is a loyal lieutenant in Ronan and Thanos’ employ. Her advanced skill set and cybernetic enhancements make her a valuable asset but her resentment of Thanos’ adoptive daughter Gamora may prove to be her Achilles heel.

Korath (Djimon Hounsou) - a powerful ally of the villainous Ronan, is a feared intergalactic hunter. Korath is a pursuer who is dedicated to the kill and focuses only on one thing—his target.

'Guardians of the Galaxy' will blast into theaters on August 1, 2014. You're welcome.
