Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight has already revealed a series of elegant and gorgeous posters. Now, in what appears to be the first in a series, it’s unveiled this one-sheet to introduce two of the characters in the upcoming Western, namely Kurt Russell’s John Ruth and Jennifer Jason Leigh’s Daisy Domergue.

As you can see below, the poster Photoshops both actors into a snowy landscape, placing their name and nickname/title above their heads. Russell is John “The Hangman” Ruth, a veteran bounty hunter. Leigh is his charge, a violent criminal he’s escorting across Colorado. Naturally, the two of them end up stranded with six strangers as they take shelter from the storm. And then things go wrong. Since this is a Tarantino movie, we’d put good money on most of these characters not making it out alive.

Note that two of the eight red dashes are grayed out, so expect the next posters in this series to gray out another two and introduce another set of characters. In the end, there will probably be four of these, giving Samuel L. Jackson, Walton Goggins, Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, and Demian Bichir a moment in the spotlight.

The Hateful Eight will open in limited release this Christmas before expanding wide on January 8, 2016. Here’s that poster:
