This month is turning into a big one for movie trailers. Aside from 'Star Trek Into Darkness' already debuting it's announcement trailer in anticipation of its nine-minute IMAX preview and that 'Man of Steel' trailer coming up, we've also got a trailer Tom Cruise's lastest sci-fier 'Oblivion' hitting this Sunday, December 9. In preparation for that release, Universal has just debuted the first 'Oblivion' poster. Click ahead to see it in full.

Tom Cruise already has another sci-fier 'All You Need Is Kill' lined up, where he plays a soldier who continuously dies and relives the same day over again. It's very 'Groundhog's Day'/Kenny from 'South Park' ... only with guns. Do you think he's trying to establish a future in this genre? Now that this new 'Oblivion' poster has hit via IGN, it certainly looks like it.

Here's the official plot for the 'Oblivion':

Tom Cruise stars in 'Oblivion', an original and groundbreaking cinematic event from the director of 'TRON: Legacy' and the producer of 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes.' On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.

Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack’s mission is nearly complete.

Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.

Joseph Kosinski ('Tron: Legacy') is directing, with Peter Chermin and Dylan Clark from 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' producing. 'Oblivion' also stars Morgan Freeman, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau ('Game of Thrones,' 'Mama') and Andrea Riseborough, and will have a wide release April 19, 2013, with an exclusive IMAX release on April 12. You can check out the first full 'Oblivion' poster below, and be sure to check back soon for the first trailer hitting this weekend!
