Tom Hiddleston playing a vampire? It's as if the 'Only Lovers Left Alive' trailer knows the 'Thor' foe's fan base all too well. Loki Hiddleston stars as a rock star/vampire/goth type whose wife Tilda Swinton lives across the ocean, though the two reunite for some blood popsicles.

The 'Only Lovers Left Alive' trailer plays moody, which is not surprising as it was directed by Jim Jarmusch. Here he's credited as the director of 'Dead Man' and 'Ghost Dog,' but he's best known as one of the greatest and most important independent filmmakers of all time. Here he may have sunk his teeth into his most commercial project yet (just because of the stars of the movie), though the film is definitely a Jarmusch film through and through.

The film also co-stars 'Alice in Wonderland''s Mia Wasikowska, John Hurt, 'Star Trek''s Chekov Anton Yelchin and 'Catching Fire' star Jeffrey Wright. Here's the film's synopsis:

Set against the romantic desolation of Detroit and Tangier, an underground musician, deeply depressed by the direction of human activities, reunites with his resilient and enigmatic lover.
Their love story has already endured several centuries at least, but their debauched idyll is soon disrupted by her wild and uncontrollable younger sister. Can these wise but fragile outsiders continue to survive as the modern world collapses around them?

'Only Lovers Left Alive' opens April 4, the same day as 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier.'
