The very concept of Orphan Black can often belie some of the guesswork for a new clone’s appearance, but that isn’t stopping Season 4 from heaping some mystery onto Tatiana Maslany’s next character. Our first 2016 Orphan Black photos have arrived, introducing a sheep-masked clone known only as the mysterious “M.K.”

Per Entertainment Weekly, executive producers John Fawcett and Graeme Manson played understandably coy about the next clone sestra in Tatiana Maslany’s wheelhouse, but don’t let the sheep mask (Dolly, get it?) fool you - Tatiana will still play the “Deep Throat”-style role.

Says Fawcett of the reclusive, but self-aware clone:

She’s very paranoid. She’s very security conscious. She knows more than Sarah does so she knows how dangerous the whole thing is. She’s purposefully avoided contact with the sisters to keep herself safe, and Sarah is now trying to draw her out of the shadows and trying to utilize the information that she has so that Sarah can follow her own mystery and fill in the blanks and protect Alison and protect Cosima from Neolution. But this girl is very unwilling.

So reads the first official synopsis:

Season four of the drama will see leader-of-the-pack, Sarah, reluctantly return home from her Icelandic hideout to track down an elusive and mysterious ally tied to the clone who started it all – Beth Childs. Sarah will follow Beth’s footsteps into a dangerous relationship with a potent new enemy, heading in a horrifying new direction.

Under constant pressure to protect the sisterhood and keep everyone safe, Sarah’s old habits begin to resurface. As the close-knit sisters are pulled in disparate directions, Sarah finds herself estranged from the loving relationships that changed her for the better.

As to the rest of Orphan Black Season 4, we know that the return of “Neolution” will bring about a resurgence of the clone series’ early body horror tropes, while a past panel confirmed that Evelyne Brouchu’s Delphine is only “Orphan Black dead.” We’ll also see more of clone addition Krystal, get a bit more clarification on Kira’s mysterious abilities, and likely see a number of other character returns.
