Movie fans really don't need any extra incentive to go see 'Pacific Rim' in IMAX. After all, if you're going to see a movie about gigantic robots fighting gigantic monsters, you might as well go see it on the most gigantic screen imaginable. However, there is now another reason to see director Guillermo del Toro's epic, sci-fi actioner on a grand scale: attendees of the first IMAX screenings will receive an incredible, limited-edition poster.

Debuted by the LA Times' Hero Complex and designed by artist Sergio Grisanti, the poster is a far cry from the rest of the 'Pacific Rim' marketing and harkens back to the project's anime inspirations. On Grisanti's new design, del Toro said:

I am thrilled to introduce Sergio Grisanti to the world. For years he has been a highly respected commercial artist. When I was first exposed to his art for ‘Pacific Rim,’ I knew instantly that he was a powerhouse of talent. He created the Jaeger posters/card art we used at WonderCon. Without any hesitation I asked him to create this new Imax Fanfix art. Look at it closely — with a magnifying glass! So much going on! Such power! Such beauty! Sergio loves his Kaijus and his Mecha, and it shows. The poster, like my film, is a tribute to well-loved things. I wish all the fans the best time at the first Imax screenings of ‘Pacific Rim.’ Enjoy!

While it's a shame that posters this great are relegated to specific screenings instead of being the main focus of an advertising campaign, we're just happy that unique, original poster art like this is getting made in the first place. As much as we're looking forward to 'Pacific Rim,' the endless series of Photoshopped posters was starting to get a little tiring. But this? This reminds us why we were excited for the film in the first place.

'Pacific Rim' opens on Jul. 12.
