Harrison FordGary Oldman ... These are two men who you'd never want to cross (just think of all the finger pointing and yelling). But it just so happens that Liam Hemsworth's character in 'Paranoia' may have to double-cross both just to stay alive (and out of jail).

The 'Paranoia' trailer shows Hemsworth's character engaging in corporate espionage just to take care of his old man (Richard Dreyfuss), but -- as is always the case in films like this -- it's never as simple as finding out one thing. Directed by Robert Luketic ('21,' 'Legally Blonde'), this looks sleek. If it's clever enough, it could be fun.

But the main draw here is seeing two veteran actors playing father figures. Harrison Ford, even with his shaved head, is the slightly more sympathetic figure of the two, simply because Gary Oldman is Gary Oldman. That said, Ford's name in the film is Jock Goddard, which would seem that much sillier if 'After Earth' hadn't just come out. Amber Heard is also around as the film's love interest.

Though the narrative feels familiar -- there's definitely a rise and fall for the main character -- cinematically speaking, there's few things as satisfying as a good double-cross.

'Paranoia' opens August 16. Here's the film's synopsis:

In this high-stakes thriller, Adam Cassidy (Liam Hemsworth) is a regular guy trying to get ahead in his entry-level job at Wyatt Corporation. But after one costly mistake, Adam’s ruthless CEO, Nicholas Wyatt (Gary Oldman), forces him to spy on corporate rival, Jock Goddard (Harrison Ford), Wyatt’s old mentor.  Adam soon finds himself occupying the corner office and living the life he only dreamed of.  However, behind the scenes, he is simply a pawn in Wyatt’s corporate game and realizes he must ultimately find a way out from under his boss who will stop at nothing, even murder, to win a multi-billion dollar advantage.
