We're long past the point where the 'Paranormal Activity' posters provide us with any real scares (sorry, but it's all just been the same stuff over and over), but we'll give some credit to this 'Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones' poster for a legitimately creepy image (at least in comparison to the unimaginative 'Paranormal Activity' posters that came before it).

If you're keeping track at home, 'Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones' is the planned "Latino spinoff" of the 'Paranormal' franchise; a movie just like the previous four 'Paranormal Activity' movies except, ya know, starring Latino actors.

The film follows the events at a party where a dead girl is found in the apartment below. One of the attendees later finds marks on his arm and he gets spooky new powers and there's black magic and even allusions to Katie, the evil one from the other 'Paranormal' movies.

The red thaumaturgic triangle in the poster below links this movie to the previous films, specifically 'Paranormal Activity 3' which revealed that Katie's ancestors used this sign to summon the demon in exchange for wealth and power. Or something? Who even knows. Also, the demon's name was "Toby," which sounds like the least scary demon name in history.

Keep in mind, 'The Marked Ones' is not 'Paranormal Activity 5,' which is yet another movie and presumably due sometime later in 2014.

'Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones' opens in theaters on January 3, 2014.
