Playing a superhero isn’t always as glamorous as it looks in the finished product. On the big screen, the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe look larger than life. They fly. They have super-powers. They wear cool costumes and capes. They save the world, and even the universe, in a regular basis. On set, though, it’s not quite that romantic and awesome.

Case in point: This behind-the-scenes photo of Paul Bettany on the set of Avengers: Infinity War. Onscreen, Bettany plays Vision, a sentient android who can fly, phase through walls, punch people super hard, and shoot laser beams from a gem on his forehead. On set, he’s a dude with a lot of little white dots on his face who sometimes has to fill out paperwork.

This does kind of make me want to see a spinoff movie for this character. The Vision: Action Accountant. It would make all the money.

This also makes me even more appreciative of Mark Ruffalo, and Robert Downey Jr., and all the other actors who have to play opposite Paul Bettany when he looks like this. Or what about Elizabeth Olsen? Can you imagine trying to look deeply into this guy’s eyes and pretend like you’re falling in love with him? Now that’s acting. Avengers: Infinity War opens in theaters on May 4, 2018.
