Ant-Man and the Wasp isn’t scheduled to hit theaters until next July, but with Marvel gearing up to start production this July, you’d think that everyone who’s returning from the first film would know about it by now. That’s not the case for both Michael Peña and Judy Greer, neither of whom seem to know if they’re coming back for the Ant-Man sequel. Your guess is as good as theirs.

It seems highly unlikely that Peña, who stole every scene (along with a few other things) in Ant-Man as Paul Rudd’s buddy Luis, wouldn’t be asked to return for the sequel. But the actor, who appears next opposite Dax Shepard in CHiPs, told Collider that he hasn’t received The Call from Marvel yet:

No, no, I haven’t gotten the phone call yet. I don’t know if I’m gonna get the phone call. Who knows?

Well, Marvel probably knows, and director and screenwriter Peyton Reed probably knows, too. It seems like it’s just a matter of when everyone else will know — like Judy Greer, who played the ex-wife of Rudd’s Scott Lang and told Vulture that she also doesn’t know if she’ll be asked to return:

They haven’t asked, so I’m willing to campaign for it. I’d love to. Working with Paul and Bobby [Canavale] was amazing, and then [director] Peyton Reed is amazing.

Greer was, as always, great in Ant-Man, playing yet another role that didn’t exactly make the most of her talents. While taking Judy Greer for granted has become something of a running gag (see also: Jurassic World), it seems like Ant-Man and the Wasp would be a good opportunity to expand her role. But if they’re just going to stick her on the sidelines again, maybe it wouldn’t be the worst thing for Greer to sit this one out entirely.

It’s been quite a while since we heard any news regarding Ant-Man and the Wasp, but with filming scheduled to begin in the next few months, that’s going to change very soon. The sequel is slated to hit theaters on July 6, 2018.
