Showtime’s ‘Penny Dreadful’ Season 2 Conjures First 2015 Trailer

Showtime monster-mash ‘Penny Dreadful’ scared up an impressive following of fans with its 10-episode first season, but will the Eva Green-Josh Hartnett horror-thriller conjure the same dark magic with its second run in 2015? “The time came when I learned a curse is also something of a blessing,” begins Eva Green’s soul-afflicted Vanessa Ives, seemingly having embraced her satanic possession, as revealed during the first season finale. “I learned to make use of the gifts I’d been given. Will you do the same,” she asks of an unseen figure.

Elsewhere, we don’t see very much of the supporting ‘Penny Dreadful’ cast, other than quick glimpses at Josh Hartnett’s Ethan Chandler, Timothy Dalton’s Sir Malcolm Murray, Reeve Carney’s Dorian Gray and Rory Kinnear’s Caliban/Frankenstein’s monster. Absent however, is ‘Harry Potter’ star Helen McCrory’s Madame Kali, who will take a central villainous role in the show’s 10-episode second season.
