Pokemon X and Y Video: A Whole Lot of Poke-Footage

EDIT
|

It's all we can do to stop ourselves from counting down every second until the release of Pokemon X and Y. Thankfully, to make the wait less agonizing, we've got videos like this one that reveal new gameplay footage and whet our appetites.

This video, brought to us from All Games Beta, features footage from a recent episode of Pokemon Smash!, a Japanese TV series that focuses on Pokemon and is hosted by pop idol Shoko Nakagawa.

We're treated to a look at some of the different environments we'll see in Pokemon X and Y, new Pokemon in action and even a bit of how we'll interact with the world. Some of the new Pokemon we see in action are Honedge and Inkay, who duke it out in the sea.

Speaking of the sea, we see a bit of footage of the player character using Surf and wandering around on the waves. This time around, it actually looks like you're surfing, with a bit of undulation to help drive the effect home.

When it comes to interacting with objects, you'll actually be able to see your character pocket items that he or she might find on the ground. It's a small touch, but it's one that we enjoy.

Watch the video above and let us know if you get as excited as the presenters on the show do about this footage. Look out for Pokemon X and Y when it's released worldwide on Oct. 12, 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS.
