We’ve seen them in all their gear, but we haven’t seen the new Power Rangers with their cool visors down — until now. Yesterday, the official Power Rangers movie Twitter account unveiled a new motion poster that shows off the Power Rangers’ cool helmets and what they look like when they’re in full Ranger mode.

So far, we’ve seen the Rangers in their suits, but we haven’t gotten this close a look at them yet. The material looks kinda scaly, evocative of the dinosaur-shaped Zords we know they’ll have, since this movie is based on the original Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. They’ve also kept the look on the lower halves of their faces of the original show’s weird silver makeup. Not sure what the mechanics of that are — maybe they spray silver paint on their mouths like in Mad Max: Fury Road in a fit of berserker rage before going into battle.

According to Collider, production designer Andrew Menzies explaines how they came up with the sturdier, more modern look of the costumes.

It’s tricky finding a new language for a superhero costume. Ours is an alien costume that grows on them, that’s not man-made. You can’t win everyone over, but we are trying to appeal to a more mature audience and gain new fans.

That “growing” thing might explain how the kids get into these otherwise ungainly-looking suits. We’ll get to see all the Rangers in action when Power Rangers opens in theaters March 24, 2017.
