Gary David Goldberg has passed away. Best known as the creator of 'Family Ties,' the show which made a star out of Michael J. Fox, he left behind a rather quirky legacy.

You might remember his Labrador retriever as the star of the "Sit, Ubu, Sit" tagline that appeared after the closing credits of shows made by his production company.

That's just one of many popular closing credits stingers over the years that prove you can still entertain the audience, even after the show ends.

  • "Sit, Ubu, Sit"

This fan favorite appeared after shows like 'Family Ties,' 'Spin City' and the short-lived, but critically-acclaimed, 'Brooklyn Bridge.'

  • Bad Robot

If it's a J.J. Abrams vehicle, you'll see this at the end of every episode. The shows include 'Lost,' 'Alias,' 'Fringe,' 'Person of Interest' and 'Revolution.'

  • Stephen J. Cannell

The late Cannell was a prolific writer and this outdated scene (he worked on a typewriter!) was seen after such classics as 'The A-Team,' 'Hunter,' 'The Greatest American Hero' and 'Riptide.'

  • Bad Hat Harry

Owned by Bryan Singer, this production company's closing logo appeared after several shows, most notably 'House.'

  • Lynch/Frost

Even after an episode of 'Twin Peaks' ended, this eerie stinger managed to scare viewers.

  • Steven Bochco

TV veteran Steven Bochco brought us this one after 'Doogie Howser, M.D.' and 'NYPD Blue,' not to mention the clunker 'Cop Rock.'

  • Mutant Enemy

This odd end production company closer comes courtesy of Joss Whedon and was seen after 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Angel,' among others.

  • Gracie Films

You probably recognize the "shushing lady" who appears at the end of every episode of 'The Simpsons,' often with remixed music or Homer talking over her.

  • D.I.C.

Kids of the '80s and '90s will recognize this logo from the end of such cartoons as 'Inspector Gadget' and 'Captain Planet.' The logo has changed throughout the years, but the one below with the sleeping kid is perhaps the most iconic.

  • MTM Enterprises

Mimsie the Cat poked fun at the iconic MGM lion in various guises in the logo for Mary Tyler Moore Productions.
