It's been all quiet on the 'Prometheus 2' front for a while now, and it seemed like the studio might let the proposed sequel shrink away. Today proves that they're still interested as Michael Green has been hired to do rewrites, and Fox is looking at a fall start date, with a possible March 2016 release.

This news comes from The Wrap, and it comes shortly after the news last week that Ridley Scott would be making an untitled movie for Fox that would have a March 4, 2016 release date. It stands to reason that with a fall start date for production this would be that picture (and the first 'Prometheus' was originally going to be a March title). Though there's little news about the plot of the sequel, it is mentioned that Michael Fassbender -- who played the android David -- may play multiple roles as there could be additional Davids in the film. Noomi Rapace has talked about the sequel, though currently no actors are in place (however, both are likely to be contractually obligated).

Screenwriter Michael Green has recently worked on Scott's upcoming 'Blade Runner' sequel, though he's spent most of his time in television, working on such shows as 'Everwood,' 'Heroes' and 'The River.' He also worked on the script for 'The Green Lantern,' but we won't hold that against him.
