‘Prometheus’ Viral Video for TED Introduces Peter Weyland

Guy Pearce
20th Century Fox

In this viral video for ‘Prometheus‘ — created by Ridley Scott, Damon Lindelof and Luke Scott for the TED conference in Long Beach, California — Guy Pearce makes an appearance as Peter Weyland, one half of the sinister Weyland-Yutani corporation from the ‘Alien’ franchise.

Weyland gives a speech about Prometheus, and how he was made to suffer by the gods for giving us fire before proposing that man has become god by succeeding with his vast technological innovations. It’s the year 2023, and Weyland claims that we now have cybernetic humans, which will soon be indiscernible from real humans (a la Bishop in ‘Alien’). This should be excellent news for the Real Doll market.

‘Prometheus’ hits theaters June 8th, and co-stars Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, and Patrick Wilson — and no, there aren’t any unattractive people in this film, in case you were wondering.
