Good news and (potentially) bad news for 'Psych' fans today. Where yesterday USA announced that the beloved James Roday/Dule Hill comedy would continue on to an eighth season, before the seventh season even premieres, now the network has specified how many episodes the next season would see. Does the order for 'Psych' season 8 spell the end of the series? New details inside!

Could 'Psych' be headed for the end? That's the question on fans' minds before season 7 even premieres on February 27. The favorite USA comedy might have been granted an eighth season, but Deadline confirms that eighth year for Shawn and Gus will consist of a reduced eight episodes. The seventh season sees double that many episodes, airing in two eight-episode runs.

This year will also see the series passing the 100 episodes milestone, featuring a two-hour musical episode and a big wedding for one of its characters. USA stopped short of saying outright that season 8 would be the final year for 'Psych' but all signs certainly seem to point to it.

Well, are you happy to have Shawn and Gus back for an additional year, even if it proves to be the last? Is it time to end the series? Don’t forget to watch the ‘Psych’ season 7 premiere on February 27, and tell us what you think in the comments!
