Plenty of people - at some point or another - have been captivated by a psychic, which is why carnivals and metropolitan cities have had them for decades. The new film 'Red Lights' looks to go deeper than Miss Cleo. Not only does it deal psychic phenomenons, but the supernatural and creepy elements of the beyond.

This is new trailer comes from director Rodrigo Cortés, who also helmed the critically acclaimed film 'Buried.' His cast includes Robert De Niro, Sigourney Weaver, Cillian Murphy and Elizabeth Olsen. Cortés managed to impress us all a couple of years ago with his intense thriller, so it'll be interesting to see if lighting strikes twice.

The film focuses on two paranormal researchers whose job it is to debunk the frauds of the psychic world. But when acclaimed psychic Simon Silver (De Niro) comes out of retirement, Tom Buckley (Murphy) is determined to expose him for what he really is, despite Dr. Margaret Matheson's (Weaver) pleads not to do so. It looks like Olsen plays some kind of girlfriend, which seems beneath her after her performance in 'Martha Marcy May Marlene.' Hopefully the film offers a surprise on that front.

'Red Lights' will be out in theaters on July 13, 2012. Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think in the comments.
