Reese Witherspoon turns 36 today, but it seems her own birthday isn't what's foremost on her mind right now. Friends (or should we say, "tattletales") have been blabbing all over the place that the actress, who married Hollywood agent Jim Toth last spring, is pregnant with her third child.

Witherspoon, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in the 2005 biopic 'Walk the Line,' has been spotted around Tinseltown lately wearing loose-fitting shirts and dresses, so the news isn't entirely unexpected. She's said in interviews that she wanted to add more children to her existing brood of two -- daughter Ava, 12, and son Deacon, 8 -- that she had during her former marriage to actor Ryan Phillippe.

As for her new husband, insiders say he “adores Ava and Deacon” and always wanted kids of his own, so we're guessing this is a welcome development, especially since the newlyweds have reportedly been trying to conceive since they got married last March, which is really more than we needed to know about their sex life.

And while they haven't yet publicly confirmed the baby news themselves, we haven't heard the usual (and frequently untrue) denials from PR people in their employ, so we'll take the resounding silence as a confirmation of sorts.

Reese looked pretty svelte during press junkets for her latest film, 'This is War,' but since she apparently isn't due until this fall, that would make sense. A friend says she only recently "popped out" and looks farther along than she is, which would explain the shapeless fashion choices of late.

And yes, we know there's a "Reese's Pieces" joke here, but we're not writing it and you can't make us.
