‘Ricki and the Flash’ is one of my most-anticipated films of the year—you’ve got Meryl Streep playing a rock goddess in a film directed by Jonathan Demme and scripted by ‘Juno’ and ‘Young Adult’ writer Diablo Cody. What more could you ask for? Well, how about the first image of queen of everything Meryl Streep rocking out with a guitar? Done.

You can view a full version of the above image below (via People), which features Streep singing her heart out while strumming a snazzy guitar. We recently heard some of Streep’s singing skills in ‘Into the Woods,’ but are you really that surprised that Queen Meryl can sing in addition to pretty much being perfect at everything else? Nope.

Streep stars in ‘Ricki and the Flash’ as Ricki, a woman who ventured off to California in search of fame, abandoning her husband and kids in the process. Now, years later, she returns home to reconnect with the family she left behind. The film also stars Streep’s daughter, Mamie Gummer, as well as Kevin Kline as Ricki’s ex-husband, and the Rick Springfield (yes, as in the singer of “Jessie’s Girl”) as a bandmate of Ricki’s who has feelings for her. ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ star Sebastian Stan also has a supporting role.

Check out the full photo of rock star Meryl Streep below, and get pumped for ‘Ricki and the Flash,’ which hits theaters on August 7.
