Over the weekend, Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman’s new Cinemax venture Outcast scared up a fresh trailer for its 2016 debut, but those in attendance of the New York Comic-Con panel were treated to something much more indicative of the show’s creep factor: Gird your stomachs, and have a gander at the unsettling first clip for Robert Kirkman’s Outcast.

I’ll be honest, early trailers for Outcast haven’t offered much insight into the series beyond a dour tone and some creepy imagery, but if the above clip is any indication, the new Cinemax series will be one to watch. The up-close photography, escalating tension and quiet mood, not to mention one seriously disturbed ending.

Adapted from Skybound comics and greenlit for 10 episodes at an unknown premiere date, Cinemax’s Outcast features Gone Girl star Patrick Fugit in the role of Kyle Barnes, a young man plagued by possession since childhood. Kyle sets out to find answers, in the process uncovering something that could end all life on Earth as we know it.

Also among the cast is Philip Glenister in the hard-drinking, hard-gambling role of Reverend Anderson, a West Virginian evangelical preacher who believes himself soldier in God’s holy war against evil, as well as Annabelle star Gabriel Bateman as a young boy who appears to be possessed by a demon and has a mysterious connection to Kyle. The Guest and You’re Next helmer Adam Wingard will directed the pilot episode.

The series also recently added Star Trek vet Brent Spiner, The Office alum David Denman, Melinda McGraw, Twin Peaks alum Grace Zabriskie, The Shield vet Catherine Dent and The Americans baddie Lee Tergesen.

You can check out the full Outcast trailers above and below, and stay tuned for more on the 2016 premiere.
