Sony Pictures just released the first 'RoboCop' poster, now a week after the official trailer release -- and this is not a teaser poster neither. Take an up-close look at the newly designed hero.

Alex Murphy, played by 'The Killing' star Joel Kinnaman, stands front and center in this new one-sheet, ready to hand out some justice. This version of the character is, as Michael Keaton says in the footage, "more tactical," yielding the all-black suit of armor with a pull-down visor. However, the original version of the suit does pop up.

In this remake of the '80s sci-fi classic, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy (Kinnaman) is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

'RoboCop' stars Kinnaman, Gary OldmanSamuel L. JacksonJay BaruchelAbbie CornishMichael K. Williams, and hits theaters February 07, 2014.
