Rooney Mara is a busy lady these days. After her star-making turns in David Fincher's 'The Social Network' and 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,' the young actress has been making the rounds -- first joining Ryan Gosling in Terrence Malick's 'Lawless' (not to be confused with John Hillcoat's film of the same name), and now she's in talks to join the new feature from Spike Jonze.

The untitled project stars Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, and Samantha Morton. Variety reports that Mara would be replacing Carey Mulligan, another young actress with major star power right now.

Mara is currently wrapping production on Steven Soderbergh's 'The Bitter Pill' (is there any other kind?), making Jonze's project her next. Very little is known about this new untitled Jonze project, but it follows a man who falls in love with the female voice of a computer -- you know, kind of like the OnStar lady. Or Siri.

The film is being produced by Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures, which is also producing the highly anticipated Paul Thomas Anderson film, 'The Master.'

Spike Jonze hasn't released a film since 2009's 'Where the Wild Things Are,' so hopefully signing Mara will get the ball rolling on this mysterious new project because man can't live on 'Wild Things' alone. Unless we're talking about that threesome movie because you can totally live on that forever.
