Scarlett Johansson is the latest star set to kick some butt for director Luc Besson -- the actress has just signed on to star in 'Lucy,' in which she plays a drug mule with a serious kick.

Continuing her foray into the world of action, THR reports that Scarlett Johansson has just signed on to star in 'Lucy' for Luc Besson, who wrote and will direct the action thriller. Johansson will play the titular lead, a woman forced to become a drug mule, but when the drugs in question accidentally enter her system (uh, how, exactly?), she becomes a fighting machine. The drugs give her powers to process information instantaneously, move objects with her mind, and make it to where she feels no pain whatsoever. So basically, she's unstoppable and she's Scarlett Johansson. We can only assume she becomes queen of the world by the end of the movie.

Johansson has been digging in to the action scene with her role as Black Widow in 'The Avengers' and the upcoming 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier,' so it's great to see her try out her skills in a non-Marvel venture. Besson is known for his awesome action flicks, including 'The Fifth Element,' 'The Professional,' and more recently, 'Taken,' where he made Liam Neeson a full-on action star. Perhaps he can do the same for Johansson? We'd still love to see her take on some dramatic work, but watching her kick butt seems pretty great, too.
