Like everyone else who has ever seen a Marvel movie, you sat throughout the entire end credits for Ant-Man and were treated to post-credits scenes. The first of them was usually a capper on the film you just watched, tying up some loose ends and giving characters one final scene. The second of them was, in typical Marvel fashion, a tease of an upcoming movie, in this case Captain America: Civil War. Now, one of the unexpected characters who popped up in that scene has opened up, spilling some details on what may be going on.

Naturally, there are spoilers from here on out.

In the scene, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes returns and, for reasons unknown, his metallic arm is pinned in some kind of machinery. He looks on as Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers and Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson discuss what to do next. Buzzfeed caught up with Stan and asked him to explain what we were seeing. Naturally, he was cagey about the details:

I think [what Bucky was caught in was] more of a vise. But it would never happen at his own hand, by his own doing. In terms of that scene in Ant-Man, I’ve seen some of the ideas people have about it and I would just say that whatever you’re seeing on the surface, it’s not as obvious as that. There might be a whole lot more to the scene. I would say someone would probably want to put him in a vise.

So there you have it. His arm is trapped in some kind of vise. Many online theories aren’t quite right. There’s a lot more going on. And, perhaps most importantly, Bucky is trapped because someone wanted him to be trapped. The question now is whether or not he’s been trapped by people who mean him harm or people who want to save him.

Ant-Man is in theaters now. Captain America: Civil War is currently filming and will open on May 6, 2016.
