Not only does 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' mark Ben Stiller's latest combo of directing and acting, it literally allows you to traverse his character's ever-expanding imagination in the latest three-minute trailer.

Based on a script the short story by James Thurber from a screenplay by Steve Conrad, 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' recently had its debut at the New York Film Festival, and the cinematic experience left critics split. Now you can preview this Oscar hopeful in the latest extended look and cast your early vote.

From the official description from 20th Century Fox:

Ben Stiller directs and stars in THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY, James Thurber's classic story of a daydreamer who escapes his anonymous life by disappearing into a world of fantasies filled with heroism, romance and action. When his job along with that of his co-worker (Kristen Wiig) are threatened, Walter takes action in the real world embarking on a global journey that turns into an adventure more extraordinary than anything he could have ever imagined.

If anything, 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' seems to be a visual explosion of sorts, which was partly why last year's 'Life of Pi' was so revered. Though Ang Lee's latest didn't earn him the Best Picture Oscar, do you think Ben Stiller will be able to take home the big prize, or at least score a nomination?

'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' will hit theaters December 25 this year.
