Way back before 'Twilight' -- and Team Edward and all that sparkly nonsense -- we had a much different (and much campier) teen vampire movie: 1987's 'The Lost Boys,' a film that, like modern supernatural teen flicks, drew a parallel between the horrors of coming of age and the horrors of, well, real horror. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of this cult classic, we take a look back at the cast of the film to see where they were then and what they're up to now.

Then: Jason Patric played Michael Emerson, a teenager who moves with his little brother and divorced mom to a new city for a fresh start, but then he falls for a girl and gets sucked in (pardon the pun) to a vampire gang. This was only Patric's second film, following the wacky 1986 flick 'Solarbabies.'

Now: Four years later, when Julia Roberts canceled her wedding to 'Lost Boys' star Kiefer Sutherland, she began dating Jason Patric. The pair split up two years later. Patric has appeared in the films 'The Losers' and 'Keyhole,' and can be seen next in 'The Outsider.'

Then: Following his critically acclaimed performance in the 1986 film 'Lucas,' Corey Haim appeared in 'The Lost Boys' as Sam, Michael's younger brother. Upon the film's release, Haim became a household name. It was also his first appearance in a film with Corey Feldman -- the two became best friends and went on to appear in several more films together, and were forever known as "The Two Coreys."

Now: Haim went on to appear in the films 'License to Drive' and 'Dream a Little Dream' and even made an appearance in the 2008 direct-to-video sequel, 'The Lost Boys: The Tribe.' Sadly, Haim struggled with substance abuse over the years and passed away in 2010.

Kiefer Sutherland, David

Then: Kiefer Sutherland, son of legendary actor Donald Sutherland, played David, the mulletted leader of the vampire gang who ensare Michael into joining them.

Now: Sutherland has appeared in a ton of films, including 'Melancholia' and the upcoming Paul W.S. Anderson film 'Pompeii.' He's well-known for his portrayal of Jack Bauer on the Fox series '24' -- a role he will be reprising in an upcoming limited series titled '24: Live Another Day.' In 2000, Sutherland directed the film 'Woman Wanted' under the name Alan Smithee, a popular pseudonym used by many other directors over the years who wished to disown their projects.

Corey Feldman, Edgar Frog

Then: 'Gremlins' and 'Goonies' star Corey Feldman played Edgar Frog, a kid who hangs in a local comic book store with his brother Alan -- the pair believe in vampires and help Sam save his brother Michael from them. Feldman previously appeared in 'Stand by Me' with 'Lost Boys' co-star Kiefer Sutherland.

Now: Feldman went on to appear in several films with Corey Haim and notoriously became close friends with the late Michael Jackson, whom he loved to emulate. He appeared in the direct-to-video sequels 'The Lost Boys: The Tribe' and 'The Lost Boys: The Thirst, and on a number of reality shows, including 'The Surreal Life' and 'The Two Coreys,' the latter of which followed the grown-up pair through their struggling friendship. Feldman also fancies himself a musician, and is releasing his fifth album this year.

Then: Jamison Newlander made his big screen debut as Alan Frog, Edgar's brother -- the pair hang around a local comic book store and consider themselves vampire-hunters.

Now: Newlander went on to star in 'The Blob,' but didn't appear in anything else until 2003, when he wrote, directed, and starred in an indie horror film called 'Rooster.' He's appeared in both direct-to-video 'Lost Boys' sequels.

Then: 'Square Pegs' and 'Sixteen Candles' star Jami Gertz played Star, David's girlfriend and the object of Michael's affection. Gertz previously appeared in the film 'Solarbabies' with Jason Patric.

Now: Gertz has had a successful career in television, appearing on 'Seinfeld,' 'Ally McBeal,' and 'Still Standing.' She currently stars in the sitcom 'The Neighbors.'

Edward Herrmann, Max

Then: Edward Herrmann played Max, the man who runs the video store where Michael and Sam's mom Lucy gets a job. Lucy starts dating Max to the boys' dismay, and he eventually turns out to be a vampire, too.

Now: Herrmann is an accomplished stage actor and provides narration for programs on The History Channel and PBS. He has appeared on the TV shows '30 Rock' and 'Drop Dead Divas.' His son, Rory Herrmann, is the chef de cuisine at Bouchon Bistro in Beverly Hills, owned by noted French chef Thomas Keller.

Then: Like Edward Herrmann, Dianne Wiest is a classically trained stage actress, and prior to starring in 'The Lost Boys' as Michael and Sam's mom, she appeared in the films 'Footloose' and 'The Purple Rose of Cairo' -- the latter of which also starred Herrmann.

Now: Wiest had a recurring role on the HBO drama series 'In Treatment,' and has appeared in the films 'Synecdoche, New York,' 'Rabbit Hole,' and 'The Odd Life of Timothy Green.'

Brooke McCarter, Paul

Then: Before starring in 'The Lost Boys' as Paul, one of the members of David's vampire gang, Brooke McCarter began his career as a model, and appeared in ads for Levi's and Pepsi. After completing his voice, dance, and acting training, McCarter moved to LA and landed a role in the 1986 film 'Thrashin'.'

Now: In 1989, McCarter starred in the film 'Wired,' based on the life of John Belushi and starring Michael Chiklis. He took a 10 year hiatus from acting in 1998 to pursue a career in the telecommunications industry, and in 2010 he starred in Herschell Gordon Lewis' horror film 'The Uh-Oh Show.'

Billy Wirth, Dwayne

Then: Like McCarter, Billy Wirth also began his career as a model in New York. He made his big screen debut in the 1985 film 'Seven Minutes in Heaven,' followed by the role of the vampire Dwayne in 'The Lost Boys.'

Now: Wirth has appeared in the films 'American Reunion,' 'Powder Blue,' and 'Being Flynn.' In 2001, he was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance film festival for 'MacArthur Park,' a film he directed, wrote, and produced.

Then: Prior to becoming a household name in the 'Bill and Ted' films, Alex Winter (then known as Alexander Winter) played Marko, a member of the vampire gang.

Now: In addition to acting, Winter also directs -- his feature debut was the 1993 cult classic 'Freaked' (which he also co-wrote, co-produced, and starred in), and his most recent effort is the documentary 'Downloaded,' which examines the downloading generation and the impact of filesharing on the internet, and premiered at the 2013 SXSW film festival. Winter and Keanu Reeves have stated that they are working on a third 'Bill and Ted' film.
