Sure, Sherlock has his upcoming Victorian special and a fourth season beyond that, while Idris Elba’s Luther will make a grand mini-series return, and Gillian Anderson’s The Fall also readies another run, but forget all that. The real money’s in crossover! If you don’t believe us, check out the BBC’s new composite promo placing all its detective heroes together for one epic team-up, and tell us you haven’t already mailed a check.

A new spot from The BBC cleverly edits together all four of its most recognizable gumshoes, including Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock Holmes, Martin Freeman’s John Watson, Gillian Anderson’s DSI Stella Gibson, and of course, Idris Elba’s John Luther, looking better without extensive makeup. It’s all recycled footage, of course, but more than enough to dream wonderful dreams of a real crossover.

Now, throw in some Doctor Who, and we’ve got a stew going, baby!

In the meantime, Sherlock: The Abominable Bride will premiere on New Year’s Day, while The Fall has not yet set a Season 3 premiere, and Luther will air the first of its new special miniseries on December 15. Happy hunting, all.
