‘SNL’ 40th Anniversary: Sarah Palin to Reprise Role as Sarah Palin
We won’t have any fresh ‘SNL’ to enjoy this weekend, though admittedly with good reason after NBC dropped the three-promo bombshell of its 40th anniversary special’s ludicrous star power. Well, add another name to the list, as former Alaska governor Sarah Palin will join the anniversary festivity to reprise her role as Tina Fey’s breakout character!
People confirms that ‘Amazing America with Sarah Palin’ star Palin will put in the appearance, presumably alongside Fey’s famous impression, while Palin herself originated the Sarah Palin character back in a 2008 Vice Presidential campaign. The celebrity black hole of ‘SNL’'s 40th anniversary special will collapse in on itself Sunday, February 15 at 8:00 P.M., running a full three hours to celebrate the sketch comedy series’ longevity.
Joining Palin for the anniversary special will be (deep breath) Bill Hader, Jane Curtin, Jon Hamm, Laraine Newman, Zach Galifianakis, Seth Meyers, Jason Sudeikis, Paul Rudd, David Spade, Kerry Washington, Fred Armisen, James Franco, Norm MacDonald, Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Alec Baldwin, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Emma Stone, Derek Jeter, Jimmy Fallon, Sir Paul McCartney, Kanye West, Adam Sandler, Melissa McCarthy, Will Ferrell, Robert De Niro, Paul Simon, Jerry Seinfeld, Molly Shannon, Steve Martin, Mike Myers, Jack Nicholson, Amy Poehler, Jim Carrey, Peyton Manning, Dana Carvey, Kristen Wiig, Dan Aykroyd, Chris Rock, Garrett Morris, Andy Samberg, Christopher Walken, Maya Rudolph, Tom Hanks, Martin Short and Betty White.
We wouldn’t be surprised if even more joined ‘SNL’ for its 40th birthday, so let us know who you’d like to see return in the comments!
