Did you know that the comedy duo of Cheech and Chong had a third member of their comedy team who was later cut out of their movies? Thanks to Saturday Night Live, you can now see this long lost footage for the first time ever1

Of course, it's only a sketch, but it's a funny one with a film buff-friendly framing device. The skit is structured like a Turner Classic Movies special, with host Roger Osborne introducing the audience to scenes later cut from Cheech and Chong's 1970s stoner comedies. Each of them features the character of Richard, the pot-smoking duo's straight arrow best friend. Naturally, he's only in the first five minutes of each movie before he gets uncomfortable and demands that they let him out of the car. Simultaneous Cheech and Chong/TCM parodies don't get much more accurate than this.
